Dr. Nick Baker’s goal has always been straightforward—he wants to provide convenient access to dental care for the growing population in northern Chatham County. Nick knew of families driving 30+ minutes to seek care in Chapel Hill, Pittsboro or even Raleigh. With Nick’s opening of Parkway Family Dentistry, that has now changed. His office offers trustworthy and comfortable dental care just minutes from the doorsteps of northern Chatham County families.
Nick loves all things Chapel Hill. A Raleigh native, he first moved to Chapel Hill to study Biomedical Engineering at UNC-CH. After graduation, Nick explored culture and gained perspective travelling through California, Europe and Central and South America before returning to UNC’s Dental School, where he met his wife Anne, a fellow dentist in her first year of pediatric dentistry at UNC.
Nick realizes the dentist chair can be uncomfortable or intimidating for some clients. That’s why he’s dedicated to conservative and ethical treatment in his office and truly empathizes with patients. Nick has created a personal and unhurried environment at Parkway—he performs all cleaning and exams, which allows him to get to know his patients and directly answer their treatment questions. As a low-volume office, Parkway schedules fewer patients per day, ensuring Nick delivers quality dental care to every patient.
Nick decided to locate his practice at Veranda because of its good visibility, quality construction, diverse tenant mix and convenient location for Briar Chapel residents and the surrounding community. Nick says, “I love pretty much everything about the area; I love the trees, the Haw River, the farms and Jordan Lake.” Nick enjoys being part of the growing excitement about Chatham County—the developing neighborhoods and the events and activities they host.
Before getting too serious about exceptional dental care, Nick was a professional video game player during college. (Yes, there is such a thing.) He even had sponsors and traveled extensively for tournaments. He willingly admits it is as nerdy as it sounds.
Now, his much more normal activities include spending time with Anne, reading, snowboarding, watching UNC sports and traveling. An active dentistry volunteer, Nick participated in dental mission trips to Honduras, Peru and Nepal as well as supporting local charities like the North Carolina Missions of Mercy Clinics and UNC Dental Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC).
Nick welcomes his surrounding community to experience a superior level of dental care in a comfortable and nourishing environment. (Maybe you could even challenge Dr. Baker to a game!)
